Don’t Ignore these 5 Abnormal Symptoms in Your Mouth
Teeth Experts advise us to brush our teeth in front of the mirror. The goal is not only to ensure that teeth cleaning is optimal, but it also to identify if there are unusual changes in the oral cavity.
Unusual changes in the mouth can be a symptom of serious problems, such as tooth infection and other oral diseases. So do not ignore it and immediately go to the dentist of your condition before it was too late and getting worse.
As reported by San Diego Dentist, You should be aware of five symptoms that can develop in your mouth as bellow:
*1. Changes on gums
Gum disease such as gingivitis (gum inflammation) and periodontitis is caused by plaque, which is the layer of the teeth that are barely visible and is inhabited by bacteria. Plaques can form on the clean teeth in just 24 hours if it’s not cleaned.
Over time, plaque can harden and accumulate below the gum line, causing inflammation. Call your dentist if your gums show changes as follows:
1. Changes of color, for example from the normal pink to red or red-blue.
2. Swollen gums, like a sponge.
3. Receding gums, which can make the teeth look bigger and you can probably see some of the roots of teeth.
4. Gums fester, smell or appear newly formed spaces between teeth
*2. White spots on teeth
If white spots appear on the teeth, this might be an early sign of tooth infection that can cause tooth decay. Tooth decay can occur when tooth enamel continuously exposed by acids produced by bacteria.
So if you see white spots on the teeth that previously did not exist, it is better to immediately see a dentist. White dots may develop into growing cavities that makes teeth rot.
*3. Increased tooth sensitivity to heat and cold
Beware if your teeth are suddenly sensitive to hot or cold stimuli. This might be due to tooth decay has completely eroded enamel, so the food will be directly in contact with the nerves and blood vessels in the center of the tooth.
Immediately consult your dental condition to a doctor if sensitivity is increasing from day to day. Problems like teeth grinding while sleeping at night should also be addressed because it can contribute to tooth decay and sensitivity.
Toothache is the most common condition experienced by everyone. If the pain does not go away after a day or two, you may run into serious dental problems such as infection, requiring the help of a dentist.
*5. Change in color or texture in the mouth
Check the condition of the oral cavity at the front of the mirror, Check if there is visible change in color or texture on the inside of the cheeks, tongue and under the tongue. Any change in color, such as white or red patches that do not go away, and the greater, or unusual lumps in the oral cavity, should alert you to the dentist.
